Making your special event exceptional The Shenandoah Valley String Quartet (formerly known as the EMU string quartet) was established in 2000 with students from Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) to provide music for special occasions. Since then, the quartet has played for numerous indoor and outdoor weddings, bridal shows, banquets, receptions, and church events. Throughout the years, players in the quartet have changed, but the purpose and quality of the quartet has remained consistent. After the current members graduated from EMU in 2005, they decided to change the quartet name to be one they could own. Now, the Shenandoah Valley String Quartet consists of players who have all been a part of the quartet while they were students at EMU and now are professionals in the community. The members all began studying privately in elementary school. Since then, they have been part of various orchestras, small ensembles, musicals, recitals, worship groups, church music venues, etc. Please feel free to contact us for more information and availability. The quartet has several backup musicians who may be called on in case a regular member is unavailable. Also check with us on details of music arranging if there is a special song you would like played for your special event. "Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy." – Psalm 33:2-3 |
